It's become a tradition to have bag pipes at mass some time in the week of St. Patrick's Day, at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Charlotte.
They always play "Highland Cathedral," which, as the name suggests, is actually a Scottish pipe tune. But it goes beautifully in combination with the organ.
Dr. Larry Stratemyer is the organist.
According to the card she gave me, the piper is Timmy Hord of Timmy Hord Studio.
